History/Description:
When visiting Rockbridge, tourists will
notice the
sinkholes, caves, underground streams, and small streams that characterize
this area. One of the most famous sinkholes is Devil's Ice Box, which was
formed when the roof of a cave collapsed. The natural rock bridge was
formed a portion of the cave roof remained after the collapse of a
surrounding cave.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to walk or bike on the several
trails available at Rockbridge State Park: Rock Bridge Trail, Spring
Brook Trail, Sinkhole Trail, High Ridge Trail, and Grassland Trail.
